The meeting was convened between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Republic of Greece in Riyadh, chaired by His Excellency, the Minister of Trade, Chairman of the Board of Directors of GAFT, Dr. Majid Alkassabi, and His Excellency, the Greek Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Diplomatic and Economic Affairs, Dr. Anastasios Chatzivasileiou, with a number of participated government and private entities in the Kingdom.
The meeting aims to enhance the trade and investment partnership between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of Greece, as well as to review and explore investment opportunities in the construction and building field in the Kingdom. In addition, discussing ways to overcome joint obstacles and enhance cooperation in trade and investment, and strengthening economic relations between the sides.
With the participation of the Ministry of Investment, the Federation of Saudi Chambers, the Public Investment Fund, NEOM, Qiddiya Investment Company, Red Sea International Company, King Salman International Airport, Diriyah Company, Murabaa Company, Al-Ula Development Company, ROSHEN Group, Soudah Development Company, along several Greek companies.
Until Q3 of 2024, the trade exchange between the two countries reached approximately $2 billion. The most Saudi exported goods are metal products and plastics, while metal products and iron or steel products are the most imported Greek goods. In addition, the trade volume recorded a growth of 18.3% during the period from 2019 – 2023.
